Community Helpers - Wrapping up...

We spent most of the day outside however, we did take time to talk about all of the other helpers in our community and why they are so important. I chose to read, "Officer Buckle and Gloria". In the story children from Napville School send Officer Buckle and Gloria letters and pictures which coincided with our own project. Students who wanted to participate painted a picture for a community helper of their choice. I will type up a thank you letter and send these out tomorrow.

I think it's incredibly important for our children (and adults) to have a sense of community. To understand it, to always try and do their part, to appreciate all the special jobs that people do and to be involved. This is exactly why I love being a part of Mouse Factory, co-operatives work exactly like a community.

Today I sent home the STEAM packs that the Newport Public Library put together in with the Newport Police Department, enjoy!

Harper and Paisley's pictures are heading to the library, Cora's to the fire station, Olivia's to the Hospital and Blake's to the police station.
