May Update

What we’ve been up to lately...

We spent a little time exploring Japan with a video, a great story shared by Cora and some Mochi ice cream.

The weather has been improving, other than today of course, so we’ve spent a lot of time outside enjoying the sunshine. We have also had some fun indoors playing in the kitchen, building with blocks and magnatiles and enjoying a little yoga (cosmic kids).

I’ve continued working on step by step drawings to improve fine motor skills and getting the kids to work on following directions. It’s also an opportunity to practice names and talk about letters and sounds. I typically read a

story about the animal we are drawing...so far we’ve done: frogs, lions, birds, snails, crabs, dogs and bees.

Last week we read the story “Inch by Inch” then separated into groups and used different connecting toys to measure items. We would count each number of connectors then compare and talk about more and less.
