October Week 3 - The Letter E

This week, we learned the letter E for elephant, read some great stories and found out who in the class likes eggs. On Thursday, we took advantage of the clear weather to take a walk down to Eads and 7th (near the high school). We talked about sidewalks, how it's important to listen, to make sure you're with adults and to look in all directions. We also talked about crosswalks and driveways as well as cars that are parked in driveways. They all did amazing and we will hopefully get to venture out again soon! Next week I will be introducing the letter F and we will focus on fire safety and have our first fire drill.

This week we spent some time decorating the classroom for Halloween. Parents, remember that our party takes place Thursday, October 28th. All kids are invited to attend even if it is not their day. Parents are invited to stay as well, seeing that we have a lot of fun things planned and it would be great to have a few more helping hands. We will be decorating sugar cookies, and having a make-your-own-pizza party. I will also have popcorn and set up the projector in the classroom for a special Halloween Movie. I have a sign up sheet on the board for items we will need for that. Thank you in advance!

We also wanted to send you a friendly reminder to sign up for calling businesses around town about donations for our gift baskets. Feel free to mention that Mouse Factory is a non-profit and their donation is able to be written off in their taxes. The deadline for collecting items is the 28th of October so that we can advertise and sell raffle tickets to friends and family during November and December. If you do receive donations, please mark down the amount that the item is worth so that we can give the businesses a receipt for their donation. Feel free to drop off donations to the classroom during pick up and drop off. Thank you for your help!!
